The House Competition is an annual competition at Ellesmere College, involving the four Houses. In different events throughout the year the four houses of Red (Rata), Blue (Totara), Green (Rimu) and Yellow (Kowhai) compete for points, with the House that has the most points at the end of the year winning the House Shield. The 2011 House Competition was won by Kowhai.
