This article outlines the College and Governement Rules and Regulations
· All College rules and regulations apply to international students. The International Student Application for Enrolment form asks the students and parents/caregivers to sign a Declaration that all College requirements will be met.
· International Students are not permitted to own or drive a car until the following conditions are met in full. These conditions are:
· The Student is in Year 13
· The Student has a current New Zealand Driver’s Licence
· The Student has the permission of this College; the student’s parents; the Home stay parents; and the New Zealand-based guardian.
Further information is available to parents on request of the Dean of International Students.
· Students must give the Homestay Co-ordinator written permission from a parent/caregiver or the latter’s representative if the student is to travel away from their Homestay: this means both overnight stays and longer periods away.
· All students wishing to travel away on holiday from their homestay must complete the travel details form and return it to the Homestay Co-ordinator at least two weeks prior to the intended travel.
· When staying away from the host family’s residence students must be in the care of a responsible adult. Full contact details must be given so that the responsible adult can be contacted by the Homestay Co-ordinator in order to verify the student’s arrangements.
· The above regulations do not apply to travel with homestay family members or school organised trips. However, homestay families must advise the Homestay Co-ordinator of any travel or holiday plans so that the student’s whereabouts is known at all times.
· New Zealand law states:
· persons under the age of 18 years cannot consume alcohol on licensed premises (unless accompanied by a spouse or parent or guardian).
· persons under 20 years of age are not permitted to gamble.
