English is structured around two interconnected strands. Students need to practise making meaning and creating meaning at each level of the curriculum. As they progress, students use their skills to engage with tasks and texts that are increasingly sophisticated and challenging

NCEA Year 10 Students have the opportunity in Year 10 to attempt an NCEA Achievement Standard. This standard is able to count towards the Level 1 Literacy requirement in Year 11.
